Who We Are

TAK is a team of three founders with diverse backgrounds in expressive arts therapy, medicine, public health, and information technology.
Together, they unite their expertise to design accessible and meaningful therapeutic art kits for individuals, families, and communities.

Why TAK Was Started

During the pandemic, underserved communities in New York City were hit especially hard — with isolation, grief, and uncertainty leaving lasting effects. We saw how powerful art therapy workshops were in helping seniors heal, reconnect, and feel included. From this experience, we realized
that the benefits of art shouldn’t be limited to in-person sessions. That’s why we created TAK: to make art-based healing available anytime, anywhere.

How the Idea Came to Life

The story of TAK began during the pandemic, when three friends from different fields found a shared passion for helping seniors heal, reconnect, and feel included during the COVID-19 crisis in uptown New York.
They witnessed the profound impact of art therapy workshops on this community and realized that the benefits of art should not be limited to in-person sessions.

From this experience, TAK was created to make art-based healing experiences available anytime and anywhere. Instead of offering one workshop at a time, the founders envisioned something larger — a kit that could travel into every home, school, community center, institution, corporation, and hospital.

That vision became TAK — a Therapeutic Art Kit that accompanies and empowers people to heal, grow, and create, wherever they are.
